Hooker Supercomp Shorties + 3" Y-Pipe

how well do these headers fit? any slight modifications needed to be done to anything?

I'm hopefully buying those along with a hooker aerochamber 3" catback and a straightpipe in place of the cat...

has anyone had any problems with any parts of these before?

So the Supercomp Shorties come with a 3 inch Y-Pipe? Where did you find that out?

I've been asking for that information for about a week and nobody could tell me.

What size are the primaries on the supercomp headers?

I want to buy the same set!

summit and jegs have that listed I think... and I called summit just to make sure ("Brandon" at the nevada Summit Racing Customer Service is extremely helpful of thirdgenners)

other headers only have the 2 1/2" Y-pipes, Edelbrock and Hooker have 3" .... unfortunately I don't have the facking part # (I believe its HOK-2055 ) but its 3" (if it wasn't it wouldn't be an option) ... they have the 3" collectors on the headers

As for the primaries... they're 1 5/8"

the catback I was going to get is HOK-16823
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=26682

as far as I know its 3" as well so its my best bet for now

but if not... I'll go with the 3" version of WLK-17495 (Dynomax Super Turbo catback)

I'm hoping to go for the Hooker though, cause it'd be nice to have an exhaust completely one brand

Yes, 1-5/8" primaries, 2-1/2" downpipes, 3" slip-fit at the cat.

The only thing I didn't like about them was the opening at the collector ball flange to the down-pipe - all of 1.9". I asked Hooker about it, they said it's that small for "a good seal", and "the gases have slowed down by the time they get to that point anyway". Rrrriiiiggght... I did a fit check of the y-pipe, then opened it up to 2-1/4" (about the size of the down-pipe ID) centered on the down-pipe mating surface. No problems sealing.

Can you get these headers without the AIR tubes?

Hooker Super Competition headers are all tuned! That's something you don't hear about too much anymore. You won't have a tuned exhaust, but all of the primaries are the same length.

I can't give you any application experiences with these headers on our cars, but Hookers over all kick some serious booty!

I'm going to buy them, hopefully soon. It all depends on what happens with my car. Some damage occured b/c a tire company didn't torque down the lugs! They are claiming responsibility...so we'll see if they fork over the dough.

If not, I may be buying some 4.10 gears before I do an exhaust change.
