Hard Vs Soft Mount
Hard Vs Soft Mount
Anybody have some reasonable reasons to not solid mount my exhaust?
Pro's /Con's or Pics, I'll take anything
It would be much easier for me to just tack weld to the exhaust and the frame/body than find a place to bolt and a way to rig up some rubber mounts etc...

Solid mounts cause some vibration and noise. I have the exhaust on my Z28 mounted with .093" think stainless steel straps (bolted, not welded) and you can feel the engine running though floor. I do have an aggressive cam and such but, I think it would cause noise and vibration to some degree on any car. If that doesn't bother you, go for it. My car is not driven all that much on the street, and with the dual 3" 1 chamber Flowmasters its noisy anyway, but I wouldn't mount the exhaust on my street driven RS solidly, but that's just me!
Well It certainly by no means has been any attempt to stay silent thus far. Between poly everything and hooker muffs, nice cam... If its just a little vibration i can take it. I just dont want to break anything although I can't see there being enough flex to do so.
