it wont effect your O2 sensor to the best of my knowledge, as i drove around for months w/o smog with my O2 sensor equipped car

Mine's like that now. I ripped all of it off about 2-3wks ago. I've gotten no codes at all.
The diverter only flows air into the manifolds during startup/warmup time (aka Open loop). But the ECM also ignores all info from the O2 sensor during this time. It's set to do certain things for a certain length of time.
Once the car warms up (aka Closed loop), all the air from the smog pump is routed to the cat. The O2 sensor will not see any air from the pump until the car goes through Open Loop mode again.
BTW, it's easy as hell to take off. All you need are eight 1/4" flare plugs and a 1/4" pipe cap to use on the tube coming outta the cat. Otherwise you will hear an exhaust leak, which IMO sounds horrible. I already tried it without the cap.
And you can just tape off the wires that come outta the diverter. Otherwise they'll ground out and THAT may send a code to the computer or even short it out.

Haven't had any of that in a year, and my car is still running perfect every single day.. it's a real daily driver. The only difference I noticed (aside from the way less cluttered engine bay) was that it *seems* to take longer to warm up in the morning... But that could just be the car getting older, too.
