y-pipe nuts for 305 tpi setup
y-pipe nuts for 305 tpi setup
Help
I have an 85 tpi trans am an I was chaging my exhaust system and found out that here in maryland I cant get through emmisions without having a catalytic converter on the car. I now have the correct y-pipe and converter but I do not know what size nuts to use to hold the original y=pipe in place. They were so rusted that they are unusable re slightly smaller than 7/16. I had to find a cat that would take the air tube and I have 3 inch pipe going to a flowmaster 80. Now all I need are the *@# nuts to hold the y-pipe in place.
Any one else been through this. I have to ready for carlise.

3/8" coarse thread. You can get brass intended for the job at most any parts store.
found the correct screws
I found the screws. Unfortunatly they are a dealer item only. They are some metric size. I found them at a chevy dealer. The part number is
11516072 , the bin is 0067h4 , the description is nut-metri
They cost $1.68 a piece

Metric, huh? I hesitated to answer, because I wasn't at home where I could check for sure, but nobody else responded. Glad you didn't get the SAE stuff first.
You should still be able to find them at most any decent parts store. Unless you just have to have the factory exact part.
