Are shorty headers for Toruqe or HP

Hey

I am going to be ordering some Hooker 2055s in the next week. They are shorty headers and I want to know if shortys are for Torque or HP. Thanks. And how much do u think the Hooker 2055s, Hooker Catback, and K&N filters are going to knock of the ET. Thanks

Shorty headers are intended for tight-fit, emissions-restricted applications, to give you something that flows better than factory cast iron exhaust manifolds. They aren't better than long tubes for torque or horsepower.

You may get into the 15's with the exhaust improvement.

Five7kid is right, (although "shorty" headers are block hugger type and most people get intermediate length headers for a 3rd gen), the key is that long tubes will make more torque and HP than most intermediate length type headers. But we aren't talking about lots of power gain by switching to long tube headers here. Intermediate headers are no comparison to the stock sucky manifolds on our cars, nor should they ever be.

Plenty of power can be made with 1 5/8" headers, even the intermediate length ones. If you are making over 450 HP, then switch to 1 3/4" long tube ones, otherwise put your $$$ into heads and a cam.
