strange idea

i was wondering if anyone had used the import mufflers (fart cans) on a small block ??

single or duel exhaust

might make an interesting sound with some air going through them

Fart cans dont actually make that sound by themselves. They're basically a shorter version of a glasspack. They'll sound like glasspacks on a 305. It's honda engines that sound like farts.....

I've always wondered what it would sound like, something to the tune of a REALLY loud glasspack is what I assumed. But I still haven't actually heard it. If I had $$ around to blow on stupid stuff, I'd put one on to try it before I had the muffler I was actually gonna install put on.

there is a little difference

a lot of the import muffs are straight through

glasspacks have baffles in them

so there will be a small difference on how they sound

also glasspacks taper as they go through the muffler while once again import fart cans are straight through without that taper

Some of them look like they even taper to larger, MUCH larger. RX7 where you been lately? Haven't seen many posts from ya, just been busy?

I think one thing you might want to check out is the inlet sizes of most fart cans. To me nothing nothing says RICE quite like a 1" exhaust capped-off with a 4" tip

from what i've heard, those "fart cans" as you guys say, are like a cross between a muffler and a glasspack. I've heard a 'fart can' and a glasspack on a civic and they are COMPLETELY different.... it's like having flowmaster vs. a decent exhaust....

No reason to bash him, it's more HP than those 4 bangers that use them.

I was thinking of doing this-I've heard these mufflers on a newer firebird-the kid had 2 actually and it sounded GREAT!!! Now I was thinking of putting 2 on my car as well, 1 on each side, but my mechanic said it can't be done- he said cause of the spare tire on the passenger side; has anyone put 2 mufflers on their car?(1 on each side?)
I've done a search and made a post like this, but didn't really get the info needed-
I'd appreciate any info!!!!!!
thanks guys

When I lost a glass pack on the freeway I clamped one on to the end of the cat. Carbed 360ci, Edelbrock 1 5/8" headers and a 2.5" catco cat with a fart tip sounded like a dump truck =)
