muffler restriction

ok, Ive got everything in my sig. the y-pipe has the stock gutted cat welded in so that I can pass the visual inspection. after the cat is 3" pipe. the dumbass that had the car before me decided that just a 3" intermediate pipe was enough, he didnt need the rest to be 3", so the stock muffler is welded onto the end. what gain would I see, besides better sound, would I get from putting an aftermarket muffler in?

It will make a huge difference. My muffler was so mismatched on my car, that it made my car bog at low RPM's even. There was so much more power across the RPM band with a new, proper sized muffler on there.

thats definitely added to my list of things to get now then. I just have to decide what to get, Im thinking either Borla or SpinTech, but I'll decide when its closer to time to get one. Thanks iroc22
