Hooker exhaust tips question

I recently purchased a Hooker cat-back exhaust for my Iroc. I've only driven it for about 3 weeks but now the inside of the exhaust tips are rusting real bad. It's all surface rust that can be sanded away, but has anyone had this problem before? The tips came with the exhaust system that I got from Summit for about $250. Thanks

Paint the inside with a high-temp paint. This will help prevent it rusting so quickly. The tips come with a grease-like coating inside to help prevent rust during storage and shipping, however that burns away after 10 minutes of driving it the first time.

You may also be burning some real cheap fuel. Ever sit behind a car at a light and what fluid come out when they hit the gas to take off? That's all water (condensation build up) in the exhaust coming from the fuel when it's burned in the combustion chamber and blowing out the tails. If you're running cheap fuel, switch to a better brand. It'll help.

Later,
Mike
