Swapping out a Cat.......read me

I was wondering if anybody has set up their exhaust so that they can thrown on a cat, and then remove it and swap in a 3" pipe. That way when the smog ****'s want to do their inspection its just a easy bolt up, and when you dont want the cat on you just unbolt it and swap in your pipe. Has anybody done this, and if so how hard is this to do?

Just weld the appropriate flanges on both ends of the pipe and it should work fine.
