**** exhaust.....help!

Ok, so today i'm driving any my car gets extremely loud. I knew what it was right away cuz this has happended like 3 other times. So here's my situation....My cat. is gutted and my bolts for my cat are fubared(not coming out)so that would have to be cut off. Now the pipe from the back of the cat. to the muffler is in good shape except where it busted today. It's shot right when it gets away from the axle, where the hanger is! So my problem is should i get a new cat back system? I would like too but here's the problem, about 6 months ago my muffler (flow 80 series) was shot so i got a new one. I got a Hooker aero chamber. So now really all i need is the pipe that goes from the cat. to the muffler. I would like to have something quiet cuz the hooker is pretty loud. So should i 1. just get a cat. back ( i was thinking getting a dynomax, there like 167.99) and then trying to sell the hooker muffler or 2. just replace the pipe and keep the hooker?????? Any input or advice would help guys!! thanks!

I would replace the pipe and keep the hooker. The dynomax cat-back is too quiet and it's only 2.5" pipe so it's only a small improvement over stock (which is terribly restrictive).

The dnyomax system i found is for H.O. which is what my car is....so it would be 3"! I want something quiet, that hooker is loudddddddddd!! My car draws enough attention......i think i'll order tom. thanks for the advice tho!

hehe i thought the dynomax for my H.O. would have been 3" like the factory.......guess what.......it's only 2.5". i went through the dynomax catalog at jegs and found not a single catback that was 3". all were 2.25-2.5

I just ordered a dynomax cat. back and got a Catco cat. as well! I didn't really know what else to do so &^%K IT! Went to the local chevy dealer to try to just get the part of pipe and it's discountied, go fig!!

Fast3rdGen: Do you have a cat. on your car, if so is it gutted or normal? How does you car sound compared to a hooker cat back or something else???

I really just want a deep low end tone...the flow and hooker where really loud and crackaly!!
