How bad does a hallow cat sound?
The shop I'm going to won't touch the car without a "cat" on it. He told me just gut it and he'd put it back on. I've got SLP Y-pipe and hooker catback going on. Wouldn't sticking the stock 2 and some odd inch cat gutted in there be a restriction? How bad does a gutted cat sound really? Is it not that hard to just take a sawsall to it after he's done, cut out the cat, then get a piece of 3 inch pipe and 3 inch clamps and slap it on there? Summit has a catco 3 inch 14 inch long part # CTO-6007 for 53$ but I don't think it has AIR fittings..... what do you think I should do?

imo its the best route. a gutted cat doesnt sound very good imo but its alright if you are just gonna take it off after a while
my way cost 53 bux but, its got all the great features i want

I gutted my cat and it sounded a little louder and a little more "hollow" sounding. A lot of people with flowmaster's and gutted cats sound REALLY hollow and crappy (imo).
