lt1 guys, what headers will fit my 3rd gen??
lt1 guys, what headers will fit my 3rd gen??
I have a chance right now to buy some coated edelbrock 1 3/4in shorty headers right now that are made for a 3rd gen. Will they fit on my lt1? Also is anyone using these headers on there lt1? I was thinking about buying the Hooker long tubes that i have on my 386 stroker but i wasnt sure if they would be an over kill on a bolt on lt1? So basically im asking should i go ahead and by some cheap edelbrock headers ($100 used) or save and get the hooker long tubes? If i wait to buy the hookers should i buy 4th gen lt1 headers or 3rd gen headers? Im not sure witch ones will fit. I will also need to get the 02 extenders if i get long tubes, does anyone know where to get those? lol i know i just asked like 50 questions but will someone straiten me out. Thanks

Sure would help pave the road to an LT1 stroker transplant later on

3rd gen headers fit the frame / body, the LT1 uses the same head exhaust flange, your statement made no sense, any 3rd gen V8 headers you bolt in now, will bolt to an LT1 swap.
dang, i stated this post last november, thanks for the quick response guys....
I did buy some hooker long tubes for the lt1/3rd gen. It runs and sounds great. I dont really remember asking the above question i should have known to buy the 3rd gen headers because all sbc engines have the same exhaust ports (almost all of them) but thanks for the help guys, and for the revival of an OLD thread.
