Exhaust Question

I have a 1982 Trans Am with a Cross-Fire Injected 5.7l(if you are wondering why i have a 350 when 82s didnt have them, i put the 350 in) and Edlebrock Headers and a high flow cat. Right now i have a Glasspack right after the cat and the exhaust comes out right after the glasspack(very short exhaust) and i was thinking of getting a Flowmaster 80 Muffler and the peice that go's over the axle from a muffler shop. Total $ is about $200. i was just wondering if any of you guys had any suggections? thanks

why bother with the muffler? if you're happy with the glass pack just stay with that. if I were you I'd dump the computer and your cross fire injection and grab an edelbrock intake, carb, and new distributor and that wouldn't cost much more than what you'd like to do to the exhaust...to me it would be much more benifical to do the intake before the exhaust since the gains with the new muffler won't be hardly anything.

Crossfire just runs outta breath too soon...

I like Fuel Injection. When i save up some more money i was thinking of getting the whole TPI system. But im 16 and i only get 60-80 bucks a week. right now on my list to do to my car is exhaust. I just wanted to know what muffler you would reccemend(sorry about my spelling). Right now im trying to choose from Flowmaster and Hooker Areo Chamber. Thanks for the imput on the intake and fuel system, but i really hate carbs. No affence.

Just get a pipe to go from your cat to the rear of the car. Then put the glasspack that you already have on there.

I cant use a glasspack because of the disign of the exhaust system for my car. they make a special muffler for my car. its 1 imput.. 2 output. its only one muffler. Glasspack is just a straight though 1 imput 1 output. I just want to know which muffler is better. Flowmaster 80 series(the one that is made for my car) or Hooker Areo Chamber(they also make one for my car). thanks

Go with the Hooker Aerochamber. I am getting the Aerochamber cat-back, and have heard no complaints what so ever about the Aerochamber muffler. Everybody loves the sound. I was thinking about getting a Flowmaster, but everyone has one and I get tired of hearing the same Flowmaster sound. But, this is all just MY opinion, so I hope it will help you.
