Need header help!
I just bought the SLP 1 3/4 headers for my car because it has a cracked manifold. The engine is a 327. I know that these are a little big for this size engine, but I plan on installing a 427 small block (bored and stroked 400 obviously) in about a year and I didn't want to buy another set of headers. What problems might I face with these headers on the 327? I'm not going to loose power am I? Also, to anyone who has installed these type of headers before, how well do they fit? Will the bolt in without havint to be hammered any?
Sorry for making it so long.
Thanks

Well i had to pound one tube on the drivers side to clear the steering arm. I called SLP and they said my motor mount was worn out!! NOT. When i put my 388 in with angle plug heads the beatings were close to follow!! Had to make clearence for last 2 plugs, and they still are almost touching. With straight plugs it would have been safe.

I decided to go with the SLP 1 5/8 size instead. I want more torque out of the 327 anyway, and I'll probably put full length headers on the 427 anyway so the 1 3/4 would be a waste of money. Thanks for the help Slush92RS, it will definatly come in handy.
