I just got my Y-pipe from Mufflex made especially for Thirdgen's with Super Comps and it's hitting the tranny crossmember...this makes me wonder if I actually have Super Comps??

Well, I've got a set in the box, but not at this location. I also have the full 4" Mufflex waiting. I noticed the y pipe has some rectangular dimples in them, right where the crossmember should be. Do you have those indentations and are they lining up with your crossmember? That should speak to whether you collectors are dumping in the right spot.

I have T56 and a home made angle iron crossmember that is further back from stock location and narrower but thicker. I am curious as to our system's fit issues. I may look into one of Skulte's T56 retro crossmembers.

Let us know what you come up with. If needed, I could measure the headers tomorrow.

What measurements do you need? I have the SuperComps sitting on my floor

Did you install new motor mounts?
Where is th Y hitting?
Did the Mufflex Y come fully assembled ... or did a muffler shop have to weld it up?

ok here's the deal....

I just verified that I do have Super Comps...I do have the dimples to make room for the crossmember and I called Mufflex about this dilemma and on some crossmembers the lip needs to be trimmed in order for it to fit...

I have a big *** lip on my member so this is starting to make more sense why it's not working...

I'm stuck on removing my crossmember though because some jacka$$ decided to put the bolts in backwards and it's making it a bear to try to get it out in order to remove that lip.

Traxion...it came in three pieces...the 2 pieces that Mufflex made that bolt up to the headers and the y-pipe is actually a Flowmaster Y-pipe that they use and it comes with 2 3" clamps and a 4" clamp in order to secure them...I'll just use the clamps until I have the complete exhaust system connected. (Haven't ordered the 4" catback yet because I'm short on cash)

Crapola,

Sounds like the crossmember could be a big obstruction for the Y pipe. I have an SSPE torque arm and crossmember. Good thing that I am going directly to Mufflex ....
