Anyone tried LS1 EXH manifolds on a 3rd gen??
Anyone tried LS1 EXH manifolds on a 3rd gen??
I have a LO3 305. I was considering getting a used set of L98/LB9 factory EXHAUST manifolds for my car.
Then I saw the real nice LS1 factory exhaust manifolds and I thought .. "Hmmmm, that looks like a far superior piece and i bet i could find someone tossing a set of those for cheap.
Did Chevrolet change the EXH port location/bolt pattern from the LO3 heads to the LS1 heads?
PS
I know I would have to have a custom Y pipe made, but I am in CHarlotte, NC so that should be easy.

Nope... And it wouldnt work either. Look at the LS1 manifolds. They four holes are equally spaced apart. 1st and 2nd gen SBCs had the middle two close toghether. They kinda look like Ford headers... lol

For all the pain and hassle of switching exhaust, just get headers. I think the exhaust manifolds are the same, anyway.

Nothing from a LS1 will work on a standard SBC.
