ive heard you need to wet the gaskets first, then tighten bolts, then drive on it then tighten, then drive, and tighten etc for a total of like 4 times. Fel-Pro gaskets?? Mr.Gasket??
the header gaskets are mr gasket ultra seals and the collector gaskets are copper ones made my i think sce or something like that.

I have the same problem. I used the crappy felt ones that came with the headers. I HATE that putting sound, it takes away from the car, iand i think it might hurt performance. If anyone has any "secret" to curing this, it would be cool of ya!

This happened on my friend's car. The header/block gasket blew out 2 days after he bought it. It turns out that his headers were warped and not making a good enough seal which caused the seal to blow out easy. (we used the type of seal right below copper seals, but they still blew out) I hope this helps. (We put on new headers 2 weeks ago and no problems yet.)

Here you go guys!
Go get some threaded rod and cut 6 pieces long enough to make studs for the collectors. You will also need 6-locknuts and 6-washers, or 6-lockwashers, 6-washers, and 6-nuts. If you use the felpro felt gasket get a can of red high tack spray goo. Sopray the gaskets on both sides and let sit until almost dry. Now put everything together, but be sure not to tighten one of the three bolts down too tigh. Spread out the torquing of the bolts evenly.
As far as the copper gaskets go, if you tighten them down too far then you probably have ruined the gaskets, and maybe the flanges of the headers. It is vital to retorque like the gentlemen before said to the appropriate specs.
Also using studs instead of bolts with the extra washers will also help spread the load out evenly on the header flange!
