SLP Headers?
SLP Headers?
ok, i have a couple questions.
At the moment i have a 91 Firebird w/ a 305 TBI. But, I'm planning on getting a 350 next spring(hopefully), i'm planning on getting either a 350HO or an emisions legal version of the ZZ4 thruogh spdc. And definately need it to stay emissions legal. DAMNED NY laws!
Now heres my question.
I'm planning on curently getting the SLP headers and installing a high flow 3" cat and 3" cat back exhaust. Will this be too much for a 305? (until i get the 350 atleast)
And will this bolt right up to my 305?
Should i get the 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 headers?
Will these SLP headers bolt right up to my stock 305 and then later on to my 350?
And can anyone suggest a good muscular deep sounding no "popping" cat-back exhaust?
any response would be appreciated.
thanks

ok...yes this exhaust will work out fine. the exhaust setup sounds good. the headers will bolt up to both engines. depending on how much hp you plan on having will decide the headers. 1 5/8=anything under 500hp will be fine
1 3/4= over 500hp...you sacrifice some midrange torque for high end hp. good luck

I just got some SLP 1 3/4" headers the other day and I am going to get them coated before I install them. The only difference between the 3/4" and the 5/8" headers on a 305 would be a slight loss in torque. Go with the 3/4" tubes especially if you are thinking of putting a 350 in there later.
