alright here is the deal. i have a slowmaster right now and i want to get rid of it. here is why. i have slp headers waiting to be installed and with the slowmaster i am kind of defeating my own purpose. i would like to get the hooker, but i still want a tip on either side. can anyone help me with some options?

There's nothing really wrong with a Flowmast muffler, better than stock, and on your setup the difference between that muffler and a Hooker aero I bet you can't tell.

The aero's only come with dual outlets from my knowledge.

WRONG, hookers have less interior resonance, and are louder outside oh, and notice the single in, single out

So, the only thing I was wrong about was the single outlet.

Yes, they do have less interior, but outside Flows have more dB's actually, there is a flow chart and such on Holley's website I believe.
But WOT, aero's sound great.
I was thinkin of the aero's that come on a 3rd gen cat-back, wasn't thinkin about the other ones.

muffler

Just picked up a flowmaster stock replacement muffler tonight, hooking it up tomorrow... Figure it will free up some flow over that truck muffler under there on the stock pipes. I considered a catback but the original exhaust is in perfect condition and the motor is stock so I really don't think I need 3" pipes yet. Only mods on the car are K&N Filters, Airfoil, Stat, Chip, shift kit. Car was rated 215 on the 305 TPI Motor, with the above mods and the flowmaster do you think it would be safe to say I may gain 20 hp and end up at 235 - 240 hp?

Not taking this car too far on HP gains/mods. I have a 2002 WS6 Trans Am sitting in the car for that purpose.

LMAO, another victim of the FLow HP estimates. You've picked up 5hp at most I would say. Those advertised values are off of like 400-500hp engines using crap mufflers.

Seems like alot of people put Flowmaster down...and compare them to stock exhaust. Maybe my car is just weird...but I have an 80 series flowmaster on my 91 Z28 (5.7) and I'm VERY happy with the tone of it. It's loud inside and out.....and I love it.... I wouldn't go with anything else.

Dude

Did I say that the flowmasters alone may put me at that? NO.

BONE stock according to the numbers the 305 TPI Motor put out 215 hp. What I am saying is with the following mods:

K&N Filters, TB Airfoil, Chip, Stat, and a flowmaster do you think I picked up 20 hp possibly???

There is no way a muffler alone on a 3rd gen would give me 20 - 25 hp.

Again, I have an 02 WS6 LS1 car for speed. I'm not looking to get anything out of the iroc, just a nice daily driver that looks cool, with only 20K on the odo!

Yep, Old Couple Living in Mountains of PA... Garaged.

I'm working on the pics. An older couple owned the car and while it was garaged which kept everything in super nice shape, they just didn't know anything about washing and detailing paint properly.

Spent all day clay barring it and am going to buff it with 3M Hand Glaze today then go over it with a coat of wax it to get it looking super. It looks good now but need bugs/tar removal and a good paint cleaning/detailing to get it right.

Took it to the local car cruise in last night and everyone was amazed with it. The side glasses do not have one scratch in them, the front windshild not one chip. All the white letters are still on all the buttons and turn signals!

In claybarring it I found a some rock nics and small scratches but nothing major, nose discolored and needs repainting but it's not trashed. Ordered new GM Licensed floormats and center cap emblems for the wheels. : )

She is sweet though. I just can't believe the amazing condition it's in.

Clay bars are real nice. I'd suggest try using some Formula 113 on that car, you'd be amazed at how it will bring the color out/back.

oh, and check your PM's.

Try Meguiar's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. I worked at a detailing shop and we were real big on Meguiar's products. I love the #26 wax it's absolutely amazing stuff! (of course, buffing is still requred in some instances ) It goes on real easy, comes off pretty easy (assuming you don't leave it on for too long) and gives a much better result than standard paste wax! I've been amazed by it every time I use it!

P.S. I love my Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-Back, it's real loud with no cat, 1 3/4" primary SLP headers and its all 3" piping, but I love the sound, and the fit and finish of Flowmaster stuff has impressed me so far
