Summit Headers

Hey,
I got a set of the Summit Headers on my 85' with a 350. I don't have a Y-Pipe due to the fact the car originally had a 2.8. Nevertheless, I was wondering if the V8 Y-Pipe will bolt up to the Summit headers, I was wondering if anyone here has installed those and if they are in the stock location (I think they are but not sure). Otherwise, I'll have to have an exhaust shop fabricate a Y-Pipe... If it might be close, i'm willing to make a trip to the junkyard and get a Y-Pipe and try it out...

Thanks

I got the summit headers for My 91'... I got My mechanic to put em' in, which seemed easy enough at first... But, it turned out that the headers extended lower than the original manifold did. So the two "fire pipes" (as they called em')had to be shortened. Also, once they were on, they were touching the frame in a spot.... so, He had to take a hammer and chisel and bang it out a little, so it wouldn't touch. (it made a horrible vibration) I can only speak for MY car, a 91' RS... other fbodies may be different. Hope this helped...
