header mufflers?

i really want to bolt a couple of flowmasters to full length headers and then run a y-pipe from those to a 3 1/2" single pipe to the back. possible??

yea i've seen it done...it works good w/the Flowmaster 1 chamber race muffler....they do this a lot on circle track cars
