Flowmaster

What's the loudest and best sounding crossflow Flowmaster. What are the inlet and outlet sizes? I'm looking for a loud but good sounding muffler to put on my 89 iroc, preferably with no cat.

The 80 series is a loud muffler, but without a cat is gives a tinny hollow sound as well. You can get it with either a 3"inlet or 2.5" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets. It is a good muffler, I noticed a large performance gain when I put it on, however, I dont have a cat either and because of that the sound at certain rpm's can be awful. Just my $0.2 worth!

I like the Flowmaster 80 Series muffler. Inlet is 3" and outlet is dual 2.5" I have a 3" custom exaust without my cat and Edelbrock TES Headers (coated) I love my setup. Sounds great and performs awesome. Call summit about a good flowmaster cat-back. Make sure its a 3" too and get the 80 series muffler and some nice weld-in chrome tips. And yank that cat completly when u put the exaust on and put a straight 3" stainless steel pipe in its place. Thats what I did. Take a look. http://members.aol.com/j007golden/mod11.html

Definately go with the 3" 40 series single in/out muffler. It's straight through, flows the best out of all Flowmaster mufflers, and sounds great, none of the hollow nastiness which Flowmaster is known for. But whatever you do, don't run ANY Flowmaster without a cat, because it will sound like ****.
