I have heard that Dynomax makes a nice, quiet, and powerful cat-back. It's one of the cheaper ones out there, and i'm going to get it ASAP, but am putting an 80 series Flowmaster for noise. I've also heard that the Super Turbo muffler that is included flows better than the Flowmaster. I think it comes with all the clamps and hangers too.

The Dynomax system is very quiet at idle - can hardly tell it from stock, and they are reputedly among the best flowing mufflers available.

For what it's worth, I just got my Dynomax Cat-back for Christmas, and man, it is sweet. It's quiet(just spent $1000 on stereo crap, and I would like to hear IT, not the car) and it packs a lot of power behind it. I have a 305 TBI, and the cat-back alone just added some serious power. Next for me is headers, intake, and gears. But I might have to rob a bank or something first, I'm broke as a joke. Hope this helps, I would recommend the Dynomax to anyone out there. It only costs $150 also, which is another plus.

I don't know about the whole cat back, since I had amuffler shop remove all the factory exhaust besides the y pipe and bend a new one, but I do have the Dynomax muffler. like everyone else said its quiet and adds a some noticable power. Jegs is probably the best place to get it.

the dynomax cat back reduces into 2.5 right before the muffler. I have the flowmaster force II system on my car, and it was actually very quiet before I put the engine in my sig in it. Not it is loud but not incredibly annoying.

I don't know about on the 305 cars, but on 4th gens, the Edelbrock system is nearly as loud as the American Thunder setup. If you're wanting quiet, first thing I would do is put back on your catalytic converter, or buy a high-flowing one, along with a stocker-type catback. Diameter of pipe isn't so much the issue as it all being the same size, since most of the cat-backs are either 2 1/2" or 3" anyways. I'd go with Flowmaster's Delta flow cat-back, stock flowmaster tips and see how ya like that. It's much quieter than the American Thunder setup, yet supposedly yields more horsepower.
