headers?

headers?

alright i was just wondering how hard is it to install headers, and if anybody has done it, could you tell me what you did? got a 90 rs 305

Took me 6 hrs to do in the driveway. Longest part is makin room to take off the manifolds.
My AC was already out.

I'd pull the car up on ramps to take the y pipe off firsst.

Its not really hard, it is time comsuming. You need to remove the Y-Pipe First, Normally when installing headers you will be replacing the Y-Pipe and the headers together. Most of the time the Y or the manifold bolts will be rusted, this seems to make things alot harder to do. It is time consuming, and can be very aggravating, nothing that you cant do yourself or with help of friends.

I think its easiest just to cut the y-pipe off since you have to replace it anyway. The hardest part is definately getting the manifolds off. Mine went easy, but I've heard some horror stories. Once you get those off its a pretty simple process.

I agree, its easier to cut the y-Pipe off. Like i said, patience is a key.

hey mark did your borlas come with a Y pipe?
there is one in summit for like $550 w/ Y-pipe thinking of getting it next month. and putting some hooker headers on too.
