I did the hookers
Me and my brother just put the motor back in my car and installed my hooker long tubes. Still have a way to go on getting it running but it sure looks nice to have a motor back in the engine bay.

They were a pain in the butt. Well, it would have been nice to have 3 people. We had to basically lower the motor in between the two headers. Keep in mind that the motor nor tranny were in to start with and we put the motor in at the same time as the headers) Sunday we tried putting the motor and tranny in together but had too much trouble putting in the headers with the tranny already there because it was hard to get the motor up high enough to put them in. I just pulled them back out and took the tranny back off of the motor and put the headers and motor in without the tranny. You might be able to put the headers in without disconnecting the tranny but in my case since nothing was hooked up yet this was the easier route for me. The reason it would have been nice to have 3 people is because we both had to hold a header and we had to operate the hoist at the same time to get the motor down in between them. Over all it wasnt as hard as I kind of expected after reading some of the stuff about other people on the boards installing them but I think it would have been much more difficult with the tranny still attached. Also the starter sucks to get bolted up with the headers in. I was wondering has anyone else who has instaled these had to unbolt the motor from the tranny or have you been able to do it with the tranny still connected. One thing I have heard mentioned is sliding them in from the bottom. If your tranny is still attached this might be the only way because I really dont think they would have fit in from the top without unbolting the tranny so you could raise it higher and I dont have any of the emissions/ac or even a heater box in there right now for that matter. The heater box will be the only part of that going back in.

I put the long tube SC hookers in by my self the motor was in place but I did have to Remove the motor bolt and jack up one side of the engine and put the header in from the underside and do the same on the other. But both sides I did have to remove the spark plugs But it was not a pain int the butt at all
Yes I did, but just to get the header lined up with the head. But dont install it before putting the starter back. On the Hooker SC's the Pipe for the #8th cylinder comes off whichs helps alot. Jim

I realize that, I already installed them. I just wondered because I put the motor down between them and wondered what was required to get them in and out of the car with the motor in the car.

Well, now the motor and tranny are in. I just need to finnish up putting all of the extras that make it all function back in I guess. I just thought I would show some pictures of my progress.
