dual exhaust
My words of "wisdom":
I think you would be much more pleased with spending your money on other mods. Contrary to popular belief, dual exhaust rarely benefits 3rd gens because good aftermarket single exhaust gives as much gain as you will see unless you have an engine kicking out 400 HP...and even at that, the gain that duals gives only kicks in at an RPM that would cause most engines to explode. Furthermore, duals would tremendously cut torque because of a lack of backpressure. This board is full of people saying they lost a ton of torque just using headers with 1 3/4" primaries instead of 1 5/8" - that's 1/16th of an inch difference on each primary...just imagine what duals would do. Might I suggest you go with a quality cat-back such as Edelbrock or Hooker - you'll have dual tailpipes, great sound, and have plenty of money left over for stuff like headers, new intake, cam, paint job, etc...but hey, it's your car...I just think you can get what you're really looking for and a whole lot more for the price and hassle of duals. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do, and sorry I couldn't have been of more help.
