Hooker Headers?????

I have heard many things about them. They're only like 160 bucks, to get them coated would be an additional 100, I could splurge for this, but are they worth a damn? I have a 1992 Camaro L03 that isn't going to me heavily modded(intake, cat-back, headers) and that's it. Would these be a good buy for me? I don't want to spend 400 bucks on SLP if I don't have to.
Thanks all
Dave

Which Hooker headers are you looking at? More specifically what part number? The ones that fit our 3rd gens go for around $350 including the Y pipe.

Single cat part # is 2055.
Dual cat is #2056 I think.

For headers Hooker or Hedman are the best quality and best for power. I like the hooker sound a little better. The Hedman headers come with a y-pipe and cost about $300. Where are you getting a coating for $100? Cheapest I've seen that was certifed to apply the coatings was about $160. Either way, you can't go wrong, but the caoted headers will last a lot longer nd look a whole lot better.

If they are the Super Comp headers w/o the y-pipe good luck. My brother had those headers on his IROC. The air tubes are in the way and they are not dimpled for the bolts. Go with the Edelbrock TES.

I ordered my hooker headers for $125. They are Not shorties ar mid lengths, They are in between. The pass side header is fine no clearance problems or any other problems. The drivers side header is a POS it goes straight down and stops even with the bottom of the cross member. To get a pipe in to it you are loosing ground clearance, I lost about 2 inches. I have driven it one summer and It is beat all to h-ll. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THESE HEADERS. THEY ARE PIECES OF ****. Spend the money. My next set will be SLP.

John

If you want a pic. I will go and take one and load it up.
