Anybody know if a set of LT1 SLP headers off of a 93 Firehawk will fit my 89 305? These are shorties to from what it looks like.

Well pretty much anything on a chevy small block is interchangable, but I'd check the primary size on those headers. They may have had 1 3/4" primaries, which would be a little overkill on the 305. I think there was a post awile back about this, so you might try a search to come up with something.

 

Well the headers will fit the motor but will it fit the frame? and how would the y pipe hook up? would it be close to the stock location.

 

exactly what i was thinkin.

 

gen 1 exaust fits on gen 2's but gen 2 exaust manifold/ headers don't always fit gen 1's. On the LT1 heads, if you look at the exaust ports, there are exaust bolt holes 2 holes to the far right of the heads and 2 holes to the far left. I had a pic of LT1 manifolds but i can't find it now.

so basicly the LT1's have extra exaust manifold bolt holes.

 

i was gonna say if they work id get the bbk chrome headers for the lt1 instead of the hookers.
