Installing Competition Headers.

I got a 1992 Camaro RS, 305TBI, A/T. I just got some competition Hooker Headers. I was thinking of installing them myself. I was wondering how difficult would it be. Will I need any special tools? Will i need to remove some part to istall the headers? Will I need a y-pipe to connect it to the current exhaust? I called the distributor where i got the headers and they said no y-pipe was needed, that it used the current stock pipe. Plz i need the help. Everything in the car is stock. So this will be one of my first mods. Thx in advance.

Never done it but I will try to help you out. You should be able to do it yourself if you have some experience with cars, you might have to install one or both from underneath. Aren't the Super Comps full length headers? If they are I don't think they will work with the stock y-pipe, but then again the distributor should know better than me. If it doesn't you should be able to buy one or you might have to get one custom made. All you should need is the basic tools, nothing special. You might have to take off the starter to aid in removal/installation. Hope this was some sort of help. Good luck.

what PN? I don't know if its the same for TBI cars but for TPI...
2055 comes with a y pipe
2460 doesn't come with a pipe, but I was told you need to have one made

Some people recommend getting locking header bolts.
I think I will be getting a set of the 2460's this summer so let me know how it goes.

Don't forget that those headers will need a bung welded in for the o2 sensor.
