Well, I had an idea of how to re-do my exhaust to have a straight pipe out the back, but instead of waiting for all the parts and the time to do it, I got anxious and removed my muffler in preparation for the cuts that we are gonna make.
Now I freaking hate how my car sounds.. it sounds like ***.. its rediculously loud, and pops like crazy. I'll probably get a ticket if im not lucky.
I'll be calling the muffler shop tomorrow, hopefully I can get a new, cheap muffler for under 60 or so bucks
And I think i'll forget about my project and just wait until I can afford the professionally installed exhaust I want.
Dont blame me, im a learner. :P]
Oh yes, and I cant reattach the muffler because it was chemically welded. Since we were gonna cut the pipe again anyways, we decided to use a hacksaw to cut the muffler pipe. Damnit were stupid

This sounds like a "tastes great - less filling" scenerio.
Or "better bird - better batter".
First off, not all cars, which are the same, sound the same with the same exhaust, to different people. Everyone has their own taste.
A muffler shop should be able to fix your problem. IIRC, Meineke (spelling?) now carries Flowmaster, and they have a crossflow muffler (part #389-42583 at www.jegs.com for ~$73), albeit more $$ there and installed.
The cheapest crossflow I've seen is the Dynomax Super Turbo (part # 289-17739 at www.jegs.com for ~$47), but good luck finding a local shop that carries them. They're not as well advertised as Flowmaster.
Let your fingers do the walking.
