Hedman Headers Question

In the Jeg's catalog, part number 500-68481 82-92 Camaro Hedman shorty headers with y-pipe, is it three inch going onto the cat at the end of the pipe? Are these nice headers? Thanks.

the headers have 3" collectors, but the y-pipe reduces to 2 1/2" .. it comes with a 2.5-3" adapter to fit to a 3" cat. I have the headers and y-pipe now, but I'm getting rid of them to go full length, I had them about a year they're very nice, can't beat em for the price. Don't forget you will need to weld in an 02 sensor fitting for a fuel injection setup.

the collectors are three inch and they reduce down to 2 1\4 and the two come together into a 2 1\2 inch pipe and it comes with a 2 1/2 to 3" adapter.

So is it worth the extra 40 bucks to go with the Hooker shorty headers with the y-pipe? That is three inch all the way through the y-pipe to the end, right? Thanks.

Yes, it's well worth getting the Hooker headers. They have the O2 sensor fitting already welded in and the Y-pipe is 3" from the dual 2 1/2" pipes to the cat. They're fully emissions-legal and dropped right in with no welding and I didn't even have to jack up the engine.

Are either the Hedman or the Hooker Headers considered to have equal length primaries? Any reports on which set produces better power gains. I think you can get them without the AIR inlet. I removed the smog pump on mine & I think I could still pass emmissions with a high flow cat. I also have an off road pipe that I made. Im going to set it up so I can switch them If I need to.

What would I need to run long tube headers on my 305 LO3 TBI? Do long tube headers have much of an edge in toruqe or HP gains?
