I failed passing the NOX test what is the best quick fix or what can i tamper to pass
Running EGR at idle and light load part throttle will reduce the NOX.
If if was me I would run very lean with a bit less spark advance to pass the test.
You can get away with leaner mixtures by doing several things.
1. run your car hotter.
2. run very tight plug gaps & new plugs.
3. run warmer air into your carb/throttle body, AND increase your EGR.
4. get rid of the PCV
5. increase your exhaust backpressure
there are other ways, but that is more than enough.
good luck

I had the same problem last summer. What I hadn't realized was that i had stored codes. So check to see if you have any codes stored on the chip. Most codes have to do with the emissions (at least in camaros). All I ended up doing was replacing an in-line fuse for about 25 cents, and i passed inspection. (The EGR soleniod was not getting power.)
