Just wondering what the best exhaust setup would be for a 305 TPI in a S-series. i would post this on s-series.org but you guys know TunedPort better then anyone. I was looking into this and at some of the posts in this fourm , and i kinda think im going to work it like this! Start it off with some S10 swap headers (full length) into a good custom Y-pipe then onto a 3-3.5in head pipe (no Cats) onto a FlowMaster 40series Single in Dual out muffler (Fullsize truck kind not F-body kind) and top then off with 3inch chrome exhaust tips coming off of either side a-la F-body style!!

Sounds fine to me!
There is no "best" exhaust. Its whatever your budget allows, and you think sounds good.

For a 305 I'd stick with a 3" cat-back and 2.5" tips.

You could check into some of the Gibson systems too. I've got one on my Blazer but it's just a 4.3L. It did give it a nice throaty sound, not rice-like at all.
