another header question

ok heres the deal, is it the same if you run shorty style headers with true duals, the other way is longtubes with duals, what would be the difference in the performance.

Long tubes will have a different scavenging effect on the exhaust I believe. I wouln't worry about long tubes, unless you're pushin some good HP #, a stock 350 TPI or TBI won't benefit from them.

I could be wrong though.

The gain you MIGHT see from long tubes is QUICKLY negated by the pain of installing them, loss of ground clearance, extra $$$ needed to get the exhaust run etc.

When you're looking for that last few HP to break into the 11's they could be a factor then

I ran long tube Hooker headers on my 383 powered '80 Malibu and it was running 12.90's.

I ended up getting a killer deal on a set of Hedman shorty headers that were coated and I put them on in place of the Hookers. Both were 1 5/8" primaries with 3" collectors. ET was unaffected.

Dual has its advantages and its dissadvantages. My longtubes were easy to install (motor was out). I think the hedman longtubes will fit without jacking the motor up but you will have to jack the car way up and feed them through the bottom.

Duals sounds awesome but dont expect to be able to haul around that fat chicks.

Fat chicks are like mopeds....They are fun to ride until your friends find out.
