I bought some headman headers, (Ceramic coated) for the fastburn heads in a 89 camaro. They are a shorty style designed for the D shape exhaust Port. The Passenger side Header fit great. The driver side was a pain. The Number 3 pipe hit the Motor crossmember so the header wouldent even bolt up. It needed to slide forward but the pipe hit the crossmember. I looked it over and figured I could grind off the weld from the 3 Pipe to the collector, slide it farther into the collector and weld it. Well I couldent find anything to grind the weld off inside the collector so I put the header in the vice and put some heat to it. It came out Ok But my ceramic coating is toast and The pipe is dented in some. Has anybody had any troubles like this? If I had to do It again I would have bought the Plain headers not ceramic coated. Then I would cut the collector off, pull the # 3 cylinder pipe closer to the rest of the pipes and weld the collector up. THen I would send it to Jet Hot and have them coat it.
