Loudness

I was curious what you guys think:

Which would be louder on my 1989 L98 dual cat iroc IROC?
(1)Headers, dual cats and a Hooker Cat back
(2)stock exhaust manifolds, dual cats, and no muffler

What do you think?

------------------
1989 IROC-Z
350c.i. TPI
rebuilt 700R4 with shift kit
3'' Monza Pacesetter cat back exhaust (minus the muffler)[SOUNDS OF THIS ON MY WEBPAGE]
new dual cats
3.23 Posi rear
hypertech chip
under drive pulleys
adjustable fuel pressure regulator
K&N Air Filters

Go to my webpage to find out more about it.
You can also see pictures, and hear sounds as well.

If u are looking for loud, I'm going to have to tell u to go with a Flowmaster 40 Series single/dual outlet, or an 80 Series which is only a dual outlet. Headers will make it sound better too.

The car sound files don't work on your site.

No muffler will be louder but sound like crap. Get headers and compliment them with a quality exhaust system to back them up for a loud exhaust that sounds great too.

Thanks for the replies, and anyone else that has an opinion.... jot it down here!

I am not looking for what is louder... althought I like my no muffler setup now (i think it sounds good and is very loud which is nice) I am interested in getting 1 3/4 headers and a hooker aerochamber muffler. I am trying to tone my car down a little bit so I dont get pulled over as much. That is why I ask which is louder on my car. I personally beliee that headers and a hooker will be much quiter than no muffler, becasue my no muffler setup is really really really loud, evne at an idle. I know that the header/muffler will have a much better sound quality and I cant wait

Loud is great , I'm all for it too. However you may be sacrificing some power by not having a muffler to create the right back pressure. Add the headers a high flow cat and a flowmaster, you'll be happy. Just a thought.

i had a hollow cat, and flowmaster exhaust with stock manifolds. it sounded good. but when i added my edelbrock hedders, it nearly doubled the sound, and i mean GOOD sound, not piece of junk, *******, glasspack sound.
