SLP header installation--how hard??

I have decided the cost difference is minimal btwn these headers and Hooker w/ the GP, so now I need to consider other factors before I make my final decision. So heres what I need to figure out:

1) From other posts i get the impression that SLPs are a PITA to put in, since I'm doing it myself, how much harder is it really?

2)clearance problems??

3)My other choice, Hooker, doesn't come with pipes to the cats, so i have to have a shop make some, will the pipes they bend (2.5") most likely be pretty crappy, or will they flow about the same as SLP's pipes??

Thanks a lot guys

Don't know about Hookers, but SLP can give you everything you need (except the tools) straight out of the box. You may or may not have clearance problems with one of the driver's side headers rubbing against the steering column (Particularly on the 1 3/4" size. These are your options:

Replace the motor mounts
"Dimple" the header
Shave the steering column
Reposition the steering column (as once posted)

Installation is a PITA if you have never done this before, but certainly not impossible with the right tools (SLP sends very detailed instructions). Lastly I suggest you go with the 3/4 inch headers just in case you decide to mod your 350 or go with a bigger engine.

teh SLP 1 3/4" ones touch the steering shaft...which if you have a dremel tool or a grinder or something you can fix . i dont want to bend or dent my header, so i am grinding a little bit off my steering shaft to make up for it i guess. the installation isnt that bad though...not any different than my edelbrocks that i had before.

mine barely rubs on the shaft. I did nothing and I don't notice. I can just see on the shaft where it has rubbed. I really did not have any major trouple putting them on. I can't imagine that any other brand would be way easier. the y pipe was kind of a bitch but only because I was by myself. but I still got it done.
