I have the edelbrock headers and they work just fine plus they come with the y-pipe and all the bolts, gaskets, and brackets you need. And they fit great!. they only cost about $350 or so compaired to the SLP's $500 and they don't even come with the y-pipe or instalation parts, the y-pipe is about 150-200 dollars more. but if you have the money go for the SLP.

WTF? SLP's dont come with a y-pipe? I thought for sure they did for that kind of $$$. Why doesn't it say anything about needing to buy a seperate Y-pipe on the GP page?

And if you live in a bad weather area, Edelbrock headers will rust out in a year or two or three if you dont coat them. If you do coat them, then that cost equals the cost of the complete SLP setup, which doesnt require coating, and is better anyway.

SLP headers + y-pipe + install kit < $500

The people at Edlebrock are a bunch of morons. I e-mailed them with a question concerning my edlebrock headers and they weren't much help.

Mine are rusted and are only two years old, plus they come down into the pipe at a strange angle causing the catalytic converter to hang down much too low. No mechanic wants to fool with them because of the liability if they break a stud trying to get them off. I'm screwed thanks to their horrible product.

You can get them from Jeg's for $299.

If there was a group purchase, with a discounted price on 299, i'd go for it!

www.carpartsonsale.com had a super deal on them last time I checked. If you live in a non smog state, just get the hookers. They are only $150. then add coating = $300 probably.

Good greif you guys.. they guy only asked if there was anyone interested in a group purchase. Not to debate what headers are better or not, or if they come with the y-pipe. Like what Camarokid01 said, he has them & he's happy with them. I know a friend out here that has the Edelbrock headers, for a while now, and he has had no problems either.

I spelled it like that on purpose. The Ford Edsel was a flop way back when...

I'm just upset with Edlebrock because their headers, that came with my car when I bought it, are giving me so much trouble.

The only problems my friend had, was they rusted within the first week he had them. Some people recommend putting POR15 on them (or POR20?) It costs about $24/ gallon and to do the headers & y-pipe takes about 1/4 gallon, so i've been told.

They do price matching at Advance Auto, and no shipping charges.

In about 3 weeeks i'll be interested. Find out a price and i'll let you know. i'm gonna check out that price matching thing at Advance too, cause the link above has them for 305, and if advance can match that, with no shipping, I'm goin there.

And I'm just trying to save some people from what I feel are inferior products. Yes, Edelbrock headers are cheaper, but you get what you pay for. My dad, a professional mechanic, has installed several sets of SLP headers, and Edelbrock headers, and he overwhelmingly agrees that SLP headers are much better and worth the price.
But its your car and your money. This board has seen several threads with people who are unhappy with their Edelbrock headers, and several threads with people who are happy with them.
