Jet-Hot Coatings. Which one?
Jet-Hot Coatings. Which one?
I just bought SLP 1 3/4 headers and want to get them coated. I like the sterling silver finish but it isn't available in the Jet-Hot 2000 finish. I was told I should get the higher temperature coating because I plan on installing a supercharger later and the Jet-Hot 1300 coating might not be enough. Does anyone have a supercharged engine running the Jet-Hot 1300 sterling silver coating on there headers? Anybody know how hot of exhaust temperatures a supercharged engine has?
Thanks.

Exhaust temp will be a good indication on jetting reguardless if it's naturally asperated or supercharged.
Typical exhaust at WOT should be 1150-1300 with 1400 being the absolute max without starting to destroy the engine. If it's too hot then jet up the fuel mixture and let it run a bit rich.
