84-92 525.95

ok, my hands hurt from typin, jk, so what do you guys think,

Definetly not worth the money. U might as well get a american thunder 3 inch flowmaster exhuast system with an exhaust cutout. Not only will u out perform the borla u would save about $200.00.

Borlas are nice. However, the price is outrageous on the adjustable system. Personally, I'm going to just buy the Borla muffler and put my own 'adjustable' system on it. Most people who run it end up using the middle plate so I'll clamp a small reducer in place, it won't be easily adjustable, but still will be adjustable. I could make my own tailpipes and get tips for under $30 which to me is better than spending $200.....

I think that this exhaust is worth every penny. I was wondering..Is it 3 inch or what?? No one knows. Borla also carries a million mile warranty..

Yes the borla has a million mile warranty but how many people out there have a car that has a million miles on it. If u plan on spending 545 dollars on a catback exhaust system for a measly 25 hp then go ahead.
good luck.

I have the system and its pretty nice. I just dont like the tips too much. They are all right but they could have gine with the square tips. Yes the system is 3". But one thing, the sytem ends about 6" before the cat so you will have too use a 6" section of your old pipe to connect the new system to the cat.

Measly 25hp? If they guarantee 25hp then that is prob the most HP increase you will ever get for $550.00.

Are the square tips, just the plain square ones? or the same tips that come with the 4th gens? Intercooled or something like that. My mind went blank, so I can't think of the exact name of them right now.

The borla systems for our cars DO NOT COME WITH THE SQUARE TIPS. They come with plain dual round angle cut tips. If you want the intercooled tips you need to contact borla and send them the old tips with a $150 check and they will send the square ones to you. There explanation is that if they put the suare tips in it would be the most expensive borla exhuast for any camaro because of the 3 adapter pipes that they have to include.

On another note. I ordered the system, turning a deaf ear to all the complaints that people had about it not fitting properly. I thought just a few isolated cases probably a bad run or something. Finnally got to installing it the other day. Guess what? the whole pass. side of the system does not fit. It barely makes it over the panhard bar support. The y-pipe probably got welded incorrectly and has too much of a downward angle. Borla is sending me replacements, but I really can't drive my car because the exhuast is cut to pieces. Sorry I needed to vent to people that would understand. As much as I will like it once it is on, I don't think I could ever recomend them again and think I could be putting someone else through what I've been through.

I ordered my Borla system from Summit back in 1992 for my 86Z28. I gave the guy all the info he wanted about the car. Specifically told him I wanted the exact item that was photographed on the catalog. The price was a little over $500.00 back then. The one's I received were the square angled intercooled tips.

I guess they must have changed it. All I know is that you have to go through all that above to get the square tips. I fianally got it on today and it does sound really cool, but I only have one side on. I guess I'll have to wait until next week.

my advice unless you get a great deal stay away from the borla. if you want stainles dual exit get the random tech. we are starting a GP. it will be no more that $550 most likely less. the borla is a universal sytem to fit all cats from different years and it is a pain in the butt. you can go look on thier website the part #14888 and it has round tips now not square. you want one drop me a line cause I am moving on to the random I think. If you don't care about stainless check out the mac and magnaflow setups. I posted in picks of them in a thread. supposedly flowmaster has a kit with big polished 3in pipes but the ones I have seen in person don't look like that.

Yeah Flowmaster does have a cat-back with 3" polished pipes. I purchased it last year. It is their American Thunder system. The pipes are polished almost completely to the muffler. I think it looks pretty good and it sounds really sweet to. I wish I had pictures, but haven't taken any with it on there.

I installed a Borla on my car a few months ago. It sounds good, but unless you have a cam, it sounds like a boat (?) up top. Sounds great at idle and the initial fire-up cackle frightens ricers. The muffler and tailpipe system is nothing more than a performance muffler and a stainless set of tips...get a Flowmaster 80 series muffler and tips instead. I believe the cat-back system is the only one that comes with the adjustable plates. Part of the reason for getting this system would be because it's stainless and the sound; that's it. If you don't care for the stainless parts, get a R/T or a flowmaster. The only reason I bought mine was because it was 1/2 price. Look around, you'll find something.
