Borla's Cat Back System on 3rd gens: opinions needed

Borla's Cat Back System on 3rd gens: opinions needed

Has anyone used Borla's Cat back System and found that the kit actually doesn't bolt up to the cat, but you have to use a section of your original exhaust to get it to work? I own a 1988 5.7L TPI. Did anyone else run into this type of problem? I know that Borla makes a "COMPLETE" bolt on replacement for the fourth gens, why not us? What do you guys have to say?

I have the Borla exhaust and yes it does end like 8 inches before the cat. What a ripoff. I also wish it came with the square tips like the 4th gen's. Other than that its not that bad.

Not only is it bad, its horrible. Not worth the time and money. The least u can get for a borla catback is 450.00. Sure it has a million mile warranty and is stainless steel. But in terms of power per dollar not worth it. Stick with what everyones using. Flowmaster(224.00)fits exactly and sounds a whole lot better and flows almost as good as a borla.

the reason the borla kit is desiged that way is cause it makes it universal. it will fit 305, 350, single cat, daul cat with one kit. on the fouth gens there is only one option if it is 93-95 it is sigle cat and later cars have dual cats. this way you only have to stock one kit to fit all the years from 82-92. it is not worth the $500 that I paid but it will out last a flowmaster by a long shot. the way to do it is take it in to an exhaust shop and have them finisht he inermediate pip with stainless pipe. It just gets expensive If you were to do that. it would be easier to by the random tech.
