Engine: 5.7 Vortech 350
Transmission: 4L80E
Smog Pump
I am thinking about removing my smog pump. I have a 92 R.S. 305 with hypertech chip, borla exhaust, and a k&n open element air filter on my t.b.i. engine. If I took off my smog pump and my cat would I pick up any extra h.p.? Is it possible to do this without my engine light coming on. Could i trick the computer, like i did on the open element air filter. Thank you

The smog pump can be removed no problem. The computer wont know. The cat.. that can be removed also with no problem. Horsepower gains ? 5 hp ? Maybe... There's a tech article on this. GO check it out on the main site.
