Cat back systems

Ok folks, I'm looking to install a cat back system for now, and I'm reading all of the comments on Flowmaster, Dynomax, etc, but what about SLP??? According to the Year One Catalog they are out there but no one has said anything..... What do you folks think? I have a midily modified 1990 5.7. Any comments would be most appreciated.:hail: thanks for your time

I figure it this way: why pay 100-200 more for a system that does the same thing? I've got the Hooker cat back, and it sounds great, as well as providing fairly low back pressure. From what I have heard (I could be wrong) the SLP cat-back has the same features as the less expencive types, creates around the same backpressure, and has the same coatings that are available on other, less expencive models. The 304 stainless is available from edelbrock, Hooker, Pace setter, and several other companies for less (or the same amount, in edelbrocks case) or the cheaper aluminized versions, which hold up just as well in most cases. I hope this helps,

The loudmouth system basically has no muffler. It just has a small ressonater behind the cat. - Sounds good up high, but not great at normal run...

BTW - I'm interested in selling my 3" Flowmaster system or trading it for a Hooker system. Nt anything wrong w/ it, and its only about 2 months old. I just don't like the sound of it w/ my new motor and headers. It has a kind of glasspack sound at around 2000 r's. It sounded great behind my L98, but not so great behind my 355 w/ headers. - Just too loud for me...
