Any problems with SLP headers?
Any problems with SLP headers?
I've replaced my stock exhaust (as the various pieces failed) with SLP components. I have all SLP from the y-pipe to the tailpipe, been on the car for approximately 6 years. I now have the headers and would like to install them. My question is if the headers will attach to the y-pipe or if I there is a different y-pipe to match the headers. If so, can I modify my current y-pipe to fit? Thanks for any help in advance!

The headers come with a special Y-pipe to use. If you bought the headers new from SLP then you should have the y-pipe.
My problem with the SLP headers is the size of the collector and Y-pipe. Why the hell would a company create a 1-3/4" primary header and then put a wimpy 2-1/4" collector on it. That sucks. SLP sucks for doing this. They should have kept the 2-1/4" collector for the 1-5/8" headers and then put AT LEAST a 2-1/2" collector on the 1-3/4" headers. Those of us who are making serious power are left with no other choice except to upgrade to Hooker Long Tubes.
