I just bought myself a set from summit. Header bolts or notorious for coming loose on after market headers. What the Stage 8 bolts do is it has a retainer clip which locks onto their bolt so they will not come loose.

 

Just to further the information, the Stage 8 bolts have a small hex head with a groove in it. The bolt is installed, then the "offset D" shaped washer with a mating hex hole is put over the head, then the E-clip snaps into the groove on the bolt head. Now if the bolt were to try to loosen, the D shaped washer would only allow the bolt to turn a fraction before the D shapped washer would contact the header tube and stop the bolt from turning further.

Depending on the header flange and whether the bolt head is recessed into the header flange when installed (as my SLP headers do), here's a hint for propoer fit/locking of the stage 8 hardware:

I use Stage 8 's bolt kit p/n 8911. They are 1.25" long from. They work fine. An installation trick for thick flanged headers is to use a longer bolt (SLP's kit had longer bolts) to get headers started with gaskets. This makes it easier for a 2 handed job. As you get all of the gaskets positioned, hand tighten 2 bolts to pull headers & gaskets against head. Then start installing/replacing with the stage 8 bolts. There are plenty of threads on the bolts, but this makes it easier to get things started. Then make sure you torque all of the bolts good, then grind or file the "D" shaped washer (it's made of very soft aluminum) to fit the bolt and clear the header tube. The D shaped washer's hex hole is offset, so you can turn it over and it'll fit differently. So install washer so that the screw has least amount of distance to turn before the washer hits the header tube. Now install "E" clip.

I always just put Loctite Blue on my header bolts and I've never had to retighten them. That's a lot better then messing with those clips on the Stage 8's.
