flowmaster sound difference is amazing!!!

I have a boat anchor 305 in my car that works decent. Manifolds and a gutted cat with a TPI engine. My neighbor has an older Camaro with a 305 and a bit of a cam. His car is carbed one and I can't get over how different they sound. I love both of them but I have to say you still know they are FLOWS!!

By the way I was reading all those posts arguing over the Flowmaster and other mufflers. I have to say that everyone has a different opinion. I have a stock motor and I have always loved the sound. And all you people quoting flow rates and everything, HAVE AT IT! I go by sound and my seat of the pants dyno. I took off a Dynomax and went to the Flow and it was a noticeable power increase in my top end. Most of us don't have to worry about flow because we don't have an engine that needs it hahahah. Like what you like boys but you don't have to be NASTY about it!!! We are all F-body people and we should be crappin on MUSTANGS!!!!!

Boat anchor 305? It may be down by 45 CID but a 305 TPI is hardly a boat anchor.. however ragged out your car may be. Seriously, why does the 305 TPI get such a bad rap? The later versions are quite capable... I know for a fact that my lightly modded T/A is as fast as a single cat MAF 350 TPI car. Trap speed (93.5MPH) doesn't lie.

if your 305 TPI has an auto then you have the peanut cam. A cam change should help your exaust note.

Oh hey don't get me wrong I LOVE my sound i have now. Ever since I heard 2 chambers on my buddy's 350 truck I knew I had to have them!!! My old 305 works good but they are a boat anchor compared to what is out there today. There are a lot of v6 cars that will give my car a go. You are right...there are lots of things I can do to get more power but I spend $100 a week in gas already!! LMAO I will say that the other camaro with a 305 carb would smoke mine but it is a standard. I need a standard in my car!!!

What he meant to say was that if your 86-89 305 TPI has an auto, you have the peanut cam.
With a single outlet 3" Flowmaster setup, my exhaust is loud and thunderous at WOT.

[qoute]I have a boat anchor 305 in my car that works decent[qoute]

Now I know I don't have a peanut cam nor is my car "normal Z28" with my G92 package, but don't dis the 305, when the Mustang boys ask what I have in their I say "Bone stock 305," and they give me this look.."o_@". Sure your pushing 205hp but get tranny beefed and toss in a cam and ur 14 second biotch (maybe gears would help too).

He already has the good cam, and should be in the 14s with the mods he has now..., if not then right around 15.0.

My car will move nice I have to say but it is no big block. I can smoke a 4.6 mustang and have time turn turn around and make fun of him HAHAHA. My goal is to be able to beat a 5.0L Mustang. My car is auto 700R4 and that has to be the biggest slowing factor. I don't have many mods but the car works good and I still get about 25 - 27MPG as of last week anyway.

I have also heard SLP exhaust and I think Flowmasters sound much better. They do make good headers though.
