Car: 1991 Z28

Engine: 5.3 Gen III SBC

Transmission: 4L80E NTC 258mm Stall

Axle/Gears: Trick Chassis 9" 3.50 S-Strac

Headers in and now problems.

I ported my intake and installed my headers. now my car runs like total crap. High Idle, very rich, car boggs. Im running open headers (hooker comp shorties)and the 02 sensor is close to the end of the header. im pretty sure my timing is off but could that make the car Idle high??

Do you have a vacuum leak? Double check your intake.

How close to the end of the header is the O2 sensor? If it is at the very end of the pipe maybe it is sampling fresh air mixed in with the exhaust???? The fresh air will make the O2 sensor think the engine is lean and the computer will richen the mixture.
