Is it good to run 1 3/4" on tbi?

What is the downside to putting 1 3/4" edelbrock tes headers on a 91 305 tbi?

the only downside is betting that they make some.

I have been told several times that the edelbrock 1 3/4" tes headers will fit on the 305 tbi. I was told that these are a great buy because you can put them on a 350 if you ever decide to swap engines. Please tell me I wasn't told wrong.

You were told wrong because Edelbrock doesn't make 1-3/4 headers, they make hybrid 1-1/2 - 1-5/8 headers. If you want 1-3/4, use SLP or Hooker full length headers. Otherwise yes, any SBC header for a thirdgen will work on any thirdgen (not talking about the y-pipe).

I was told there would be a loss in torque, but I really couldn't notice any difference (had the clutch installed at the same time)

I'm currently doing mods in an attempt to increase torque.

I can certainly say that I haven't noticed anything BAD...and if you plan on swapping to a 350 you will never have to worry about your headers being a restriction

1 5/8's is all u need on that engine. If u are putting in a 350 or bigger engine, the 1 3/4's are better since u will already have them.
