yet another gutted cat question

I am thinkimg about gutting the cat to get the exhaust a little louder. Any drivability problems after doing this? And what about the air tube? cut it off block it off or leave it alone?

No drivealbility problems at all. I just left the air tube in there. One of my friends told me that would probably get me better gas mileage, but I havent really checked, id imaine it would a little bit.

You should have no drive problems, but try and put some sort of pass through pipe in there. Otherwise you cause some bottleneck in the exhaust. The AIR stuff is up to you, if you don't have emissions in your area, get rid of them, the smog pump, belt, and divertor valve. Some people say you might need a heated o2 sensor if you gut the cat, you'll have to make sure you are still going into closed loop otherwise you might need one. Good luck.

I blew an injector in my car and with all the shaking and the age of the cat, it is hollow now! The car works fine with it and I have a 3" exhaust. It sounds much meaner and it flows well. I get about 25-27 MPG highway at about 80mph.

thanks for the help. are heated O2's easily available just in case? This sounds like a good thing to try.
