Catco Cat
Hey guys, I was just looking at some Catco cats on summit and they have a 3" inlet/outlet one as like a special type thing but its a 14" length cat. Will this fit on my car or do I need a longer one? ('91 Camaro TBI 5-speed)
call up summit and ask for a direct fit catco cat. it is like $120. it is made exactly like a stock f-body cat and it bolted right up to the stock y-pipe on one side and cat back hookers on the other.
the direct fit is about $20 more than the universal cat, and I forget what you need to do to make a universal to fit (its not much)

Yeah the reason I asked about this one is because they have it listed for about $47. Also, I was thinking that since I still have the stock y-pipe and 2.5 inch intermediate pipe (all that is as of now though, soon to be upgraded) I was thinkin I could put this one in and put reducer type pipes in there to make up the length to get it up to the 3" of the cat. what do ya think of this idea?

Upgrade to TPI-type pieces all the way. Do it all at once, and use the direct-fit unit.

$47 is about correct. In fact, I bought mine from Summit for that much. Either they jacked up their prices or there is an error. I suggest you shop around to see what everyone else sells them for.

Yeah guys I was mainly asking because I'm in the process of an L98 swap using TBI into my car now and I'm running out of money and my 305 as it is now just failed emissions so I was hoping to pick up a new high flow cat that will pass the test and be used on the L98 in the future.
